What is the nature of your programs?
Permian Basin Be the Change (BTC) services social-emotional learning programs.
Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and/or adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.
BTC programs are entirely facilitated by trained professionals, purposed for providing a positive atmosphere conducive for learning, fun and growth!
What are some sample fundraisers you have hosted?
One fundraiser we are notorious for is the Texas Warrior Mudout. A muddy, fun, team challenging race designed to build community. Teams complete obstacles over a 5k course designed to bring out the warrior inside.
What kind of kids do you serve?
BTC is not exclusive. We do not serve a specific demographic. Rather, we at BTC believe and understand that a student’s struggle is a student’s struggle. Our focus is to assist ANY student in overcoming whatever they face and empowering them to succeed in life.
Do volunteers need training?
All the training you need will occur prior to whatever opportunity you may choose if necessary. Although, be comforted in knowing that volunteering with this organization has more to do with just participating, listening, and being YOU. We will handle instruction and management.
Am I the right fit for you organization?
If you have a passion for serving, working with students, or committing to a goal of creating a more wholesome world. Then I think you know the answer to that question!
